Mary Beth Lyles, LPC, PMH-C

licensed Therapist

Women’s Wellness Coach

I’m Mary Beth Lyles and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C). Whether counseling or coaching, I love to help women find peace, confidence, clarity and an openness to possibility.

Wellness comes from many places: our current thoughts, our relationships, the environment in which we grew up and that in which we now live, the meaning we make of our lives and our life experiences to date.

Let’s work together to find your path forward by discovering your own strengths, wisdom, and solutions, while drawing from research-based techniques and strategies. Whether you are facing an immediate crisis or just suspect that things could be a bit better, I look forward to learning all about you and your world. I will tailor the therapeutic process to your individual goals, situation and personal comfort.

My special interests include depression and anxiety; perinatal mood issues such as postpartum depression and anxiety, pregnancy loss, and infertility; later-life motherhood; dating; stress and professional burnout; fulfillment and creativity; life-stage transitions; healthy grandparenting; and emotional wellness for mature and senior women.

I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and completed my clinical internship at Transitions/Emory Wesley Woods. Prior to entering counseling, I worked for many years in trade publishing, as a literary agent representing fiction and nonfiction projects while helping authors navigate the often stressful publication process, and in legal education. I earned my undergraduate degree from Brown University and hold additional degrees from Emory School of Law and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville.

When not working, I enjoy books, interesting food, British television and spending time in nature. I share my daily life with my husband, daughter and Atticus the cat. Mary Beth is a nickname. My legal name is Mary Elizabeth Chappell Lyles.
