      Perinatal Mental Health Trainer/Educator – 2017 – 2022

      Present the  Perinatal Mental Health 101 presentations/trainings for providers across Georgia. This one hour presentation focuses on best practices for screening and referring patients for perinatal mental health challenges. Cassie has helped to train dozens of volunteers to lead these presentations, and personally delivered presentations to hundreds of providers in a variety of settings across the state.

      2 day training: Advanced Maternal Mental Health Clinical Skills

      Co developed an experiential training with Elizabeth O’Brien and Dr. Marianela Rodriguez discussing the significance of postpartum OCD and worked on skill building to help with the complexity of intrusive thoughts and images.  We discussed relationship/sexuality postpartum as well as the O’Brien Mind/Body Model.   Other topics for this training included:  perinatal loss and skills for treatment, birth trauma, and obstetric violence.

      Postpartum Support International Annual Conference:  Bolstering Clinical Competency in Private Practice: Build Your Own Maternal Mental Health Consultation Group

      Co developed experiential workshop with colleague Elizabeth O’Brien, LPC to help others learn how to create their own MMH consultation group. Members explored professional development in the business side of private practice, and ways to strengthen advanced clinical skills.

      Presenter at the National Perinatal Association Annual Conference  March 2017Bolstering Clinical Competency; Professional Support and Consultation Groups.  Co developed and facilitated a training with Elizabeth, O’Brien, LPC,Discussed the importance of  ongoing professional support as a clinician and the value of consultation groups as it relates to professionals working in maternal mental health.

      Co developed and presented workshop with colleague, Elizabeth O’Brien, LPC.  Discussed significance of postpartum OCD and worked on skill building to help with the complexity of intrusive thoughts and images.  Talked about how a history of complex trauma can affect pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period.  Other topics for this training included:  perinatal loss and skills for treatment, exploring how the perinatal period affect relationships and sexuality, and developing the beginning steps of a marketing plan for private practice.

      Georgia Academy of Family Physicians Annual Conference  November 2016 Maternal Mental Health in Family Practice

      Developed and presented workshop Discussed recommended physician protocol in terms of identification and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.  Explored different treatment options and emphasized the importance of getting resources and referrals to patients and their families.

      Consultant/Educator – 2015-2016

      Consulted with and provided 2 hour PMAD trainings for Mental Health America of GA.  Traveled to different healthcare facilities in the metro Atlanta area to teach and promote awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
