The Village: Teen Years Edition

Social support is a foundational key to mental health as a mother.

Women’s Wellness Group of Dunwoody is excited to offer our newest support group for moms of teenagers.

Who is this group for?

This group is designed for moms of teenagers 13+ who are navigating the thrilling yet tumultuous journey of raising teenagers!  The Village: Teen Years is a safe and welcoming space created exclusively for moms of adolescents. We understand the unique challenges, joys, and occasional chaos that come with parenting teens.

Where and when will we meet?

This group will meet the last Thursday of the month.  There are two options, a noon virtual group as well as a 7:30pm group that meets in person @ the office of Women’s Wellness Group of Dunwoody @ 1845 Peeler Rd, Ste C.  More groups may be added if needed.

What will we do?

The group’s leader  Cassie Owens, LPC  will facilitate discussion on related topics while encouraging moms facing similar challenges to share their journey in a non-judgmental environment. She will offer guidance, expertise, insight, resources and facilitate a safe space for connection and camaraderie.  Topics will be decided among the group and below are examples of what might be discussed.  Guest speakers could be a part of the group if there are specific requests.

Effective Communication with Teenagers: Strategies for fostering open, honest, and constructive communication with teenagers, including active listening and conflict resolution skills.

Setting Boundaries and Expectations: Techniques for establishing clear boundaries, rules, and expectations while maintaining a supportive and respectful relationship with teenagers.
